bio

Alisha Giacona is an aspiring art student from central New York. She has always been interested in the field, much throughout high school and into college. Alisha attended Mohawk Valley Community College to pursue a degree in Fine Arts. Later she would transfer to Suny Oswego to graduate in spring 2008 with her BFA. After deciding for a change, she returned to Mohawk Valley Community College to complete her Associates in Culinary Arts Management with an emphasis in Baking by spring 2010.
Alisha's interests mainly include school and work. Different art classes allow the chance to broaden experience with different media and styles. She has experience with many media, including photography, photoshop, drawing, painting, and metal welding, to name a few. Alisha also enjoys drawing in her free time, as she is influenced by graphic novels and mangas. She has not had any jobs pertaining to art, but work has served as inspiration to her art.
Upon graduating with a baking degree, Alisha currently makes cakes on the side of her two jobs for friends and family. With the art background, she creates cakes in a non-traditional way with sculptural techniques and the use of fondant and other icing mediums.
Currently, Alisha is searching for a position as a professional cake decorator. As it stands, not many places in New York are hiring, and it has been a dream to live in North Carolina, so an out of state search has begun.
